Automated Investment Operations Workflow

Exception-based Transaction, Position and Cash Event Recordkeeping

Investment Logistics

The QED platform automates transaction processing, mark-to-market valuation, trade settlement, confirmation and affirmation, reconciliation, performance measurement and analysis, and investment accounting.

Combining extensive portfolio management, investment operations, and accounting features into a single cohesive, multi-threaded web-enabled application, QED allows you to centrally control and distribute information across your enterprise in real-time. Control, reliability, and an intuitive interface makes the QED platform your all-in-one solution.

Flexible rules-based configuration accommodates your business workflows and supports changing requirements associated with new accounts, investment vehicles, regulatory reporting, and evolving data exchange and translation technologies.

Electronic Trade Confirmation

The QED platform automates your trade matching process – a critical part of your ability to achieve straight through processing of trade allocations and confirmations – with an interface to DTCC and Omgeo that eliminates the need for third party settlement services.

QED's electronic trade confirmation streamlines the flow of your trade cycle with automatic communication of trade confirmations, reconciliation of trade tickets, and transmission of affirmation advices to third parties.

The QED platform enables you to identify potential problems with trades in early stages, and:

  • sends equity and fixed income trade and allocation details
  • achieves same day trade allocation and acceptance
  • eliminates manual trade posting and transcription errors

Automated Transaction Posting

The QED platform automates your transaction workflows with a configurable data translation and loading (ETL) toolkit. The user friendly interface allows you to create re-usable templates and trade communication procedures to automate receipt and posting of transaction activity from third parties.

Automated Exception Detection

The QED platform includes a robust reconciliation workbench for keeping your investment life cycle current with third parties such as custody banks, external managers, prime brokers, trading systems, settlement banks, and depositories.

Engineered for flexibility and straightforward comparison of financial data between interested parties, the workbench allows you to create templates and re-usable reconciliation workflow processes. This highly scalable feature enables you to compare transactions and position data between two sources and quickly work out exceptions. Integrated data retrieval and translation components automatically gather data from specified sources (including the internal book-of-record) for comparison according to user-defined rules that define data elements, tolerance levels, and reconciliation report layouts.

Reconciliation processes may be viewed and managed interactively or scheduled for unattended operation with automatic email delivery of exception results to specified personnel. Configured to support client reconciliation requirements, exception reports may be tailored to specific user preferences and can include highlighting of exception values.
